Welcome!

Have you heard about PlayFutures?
PlayFutures is the global, invitation-only research and innovation community of the LEGO Foundation that brings together participants from diverse backgrounds to deepen the understanding of Learning through Play.

Recently, PlayFutures interviewed me as their main contributor to the ‘Learning Outdoor’ ideas section.
Since it’s vacation time and you are probably reading this while relaxing far away from a school or an office, I’d like to share with you just a brief part of the interview to fuel your summer thoughts.

Q: Do you have a favorite Learning through Play resource?
A: Just a quote by poet Novalis: “If there were a theory of the fantastic as there is for logic, then we would be able to discover the art of invention.”
The magic of learning through play lies in enjoying a broader space of action, without being trapped in the limits of logical thinking.

Here you can find a transcription of the interview, which is about children’s self-guided inclusive behavior in the 19th Century, children’s autonomous creativity during the Milan heroin epidemic in the early 1980s, and a zero-budget outdoor project in Berlin, Germany.

Enjoy your summer!
